I was wondering why do we give 2 points when Vashyas are matched for a given couple. In ancient times it was believed that a girl is taken care and controlled by her father before the marriage and by her husband after the marriage.
In that way it was checked if the husband is able to control his wife or not. This was checked using matching the Vashyas of the two. Now the question arises what is Vashya?
Vashya is decided on the basis of the Rashi(Moon sign) of a person, boy or girl. There are four Vashya:

- Manav (Biped)- Gemini, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius and Virgo
- Vanchar(Wild-Beast) - Leo
- Jalchar(Water dweller)- Cancer, Pisces, Capricorn
- Keet(Insect) - Scorpio
- Chatuspad(Quadrped) - Taurus, Aries
If the Boy's Vashya is superior to Girl's Vashya then it will get a score of 2 and if Girl's Vashya is superior the, it will get 0. In today's world things are changing, girls are independent and can earn their own living so, Vashya Dosha is not very much important.
One has to check the whole Birth Chart to check the other Dosha or Yogas which will either support or negate the Vashya Dosha.
If there are other beneficial Yogas one should not care much about the Vashya or Varna Dosha in today's world because women being independent do not need to be controlled the way needed in the past.
